Just five miles from Langley is Heathrow Airport, a major employment hub serving over 70,000 workers.
The government has recently approved a new third runway to be built at Heathrow which will see an additional 740,000 flights per year with two new terminals being built. This is positive news for the local area as not only does it provide an additional 40,000 jobs, there’s a commitment to improving the local environment and improvements to local road and rail networks.
Crossrail are bringing the Elizabeth Line to Langley in 2019: good news for commuters. Network Rail have been carrying out work to provide up to four trains an hour in each direction from December 2019. This will allow passengers to travel into Central London in just 30 minutes without having to switch lines.
In addition to Crossrail, there’s the Western Rail Access to Heathrow (WRAtH), which is a new direct rail link connecting the west of England with Heathrow, and is scheduled to be operating by 2024.
